California Voter Education Project

Join the 2M+ California Voter Education Project, BeThaChange.com to become part of a growing movement of young people who are willing to change the future of their country and their communities through civic engagement and civic participation.

The 2M+ campaign will be a vehicle for youth to become engaged in their future by participating in a website campaign for youth involvement.

- Spoken Word contest, no more than 2-3 minutes. Cash award $1000.00

- Essay Contest: Essay Theme “My California Dream for Civic Engagement” in 500 words or less. Cash award $500.00

- Freeman Leadership Awards (3): Nominations can come from Community Based Organizations, Faith Based-Institutions , Youth Groups, Youth Agencies and others who know youth who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and civic participation. Cash awards $1000.00

Criteria:
1. Must be 18 – 27 years of age
2.Those participating in the contest and nominating for the leadership awards must register on line to www.bethachange.com
3. All registrations must be done on line to www.bethachange.com
4. Register now to participate at the “Leadership Summit” scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the USC Davidson Conference Center. Register early, seating will be limited www.bethachange.com.
5. Must register on line to www.bethachange.com
6. Deadline for submission is March 15, 2008

All entries become the property of the 2M+ California Voter Education Project and results and determination of the winners will be final.

Dear South LA Community member and all Interested parties:

The Planning Department would like to invite you to the a small group meeting to be conducted at a located near you. If you where not able to attend any previous small group meetings for the South and Southeast LA Community Plan, you can join us at any one of the three meeting locations listed below. For your convenience we are holding
meetings throughout the South region in order to facilitate access to meeting locations. Please forward and/or post flyers to anyone who may be interested.

Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 6PM at the Mark Twain Public Library
9621 S. Figueroa St., LA - at the corner of Figueroa & 97th St (Joint meeting South & Southeast LA)

As a stakeholder in South LA your input and involvement is a very important component of the Community Plan Program process.

RSVP via phone or email is not required, but highly recommended to ensure sufficient material and handouts. Please call or email me if you have any questions regarding the Planning process. Again, feel free to share this info with anyone who may be interested in getting involved!
