Join the 2M+ California Voter Education Project, BeThaChange.com to become part of a growing movement of young people who are willing to change the future of their country and their communities through civic engagement and civic participation.
The 2M+ campaign will be a vehicle for youth to become engaged in their future by participating in a website campaign for youth involvement.
- Spoken Word contest, no more than 2-3 minutes. Cash award $1000.00
- Essay Contest: Essay Theme “My California Dream for Civic Engagement” in 500 words or less. Cash award $500.00
- Freeman Leadership Awards (3): Nominations can come from Community Based Organizations, Faith Based-Institutions , Youth Groups, Youth Agencies and others who know youth who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and civic participation. Cash awards $1000.00
Criteria:
1. Must be 18 – 27 years of age
2.Those participating in the contest and nominating for the leadership awards must register on line to www.bethachange.com
3. All registrations must be done on line to www.bethachange.com
4. Register now to participate at the “Leadership Summit” scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the USC Davidson Conference Center. Register early, seating will be limited www.bethachange.com.

6. Deadline for submission is March 15, 2008

USGA Grants Initiative
Golf Anyone?
Through its Grants Initiative, the USGA empowers organizations that introduce the game to people who would otherwise not have the opportunity, specifically economically disadvantaged youth and individuals with disabilities. Grant awards are directed to instructional programs, caddie or other work-based curriculums, and the construction of facilities that make the game more affordable and accessible.

Lanzate Travel Award Program for College Students
Applications are now being accepted for the 3rd Annual "Dándole Alas a Tu Éxito/Giving Flight to Your Success," educational travel award program. Through this national educational initiative, Southwest Airlines in conjunction with The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), will provide roundtrip tickets to students with socio-economic need and who travel away from home to pursue a higher education.
